CULLOWHEE, N.C. (AP) -- Ashley Champion posted a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead Chattanooga to a 73-71 victory over Western Carolina on Saturday.

Jason Rogan also had 21 points and Chris Brown finished with 10 for the Mocs (13-8, 6-4 Southern Conference).

Kevin Martin, the nation's leading scorer, sat out most of the first half in foul trouble but scored 23 points in the second half for the Catamounts (11-10, 4-6). David Berghoefer had 14 points and eight rebounds.

The Catamounts held a five-point lead with 2:33 left but Chattanooga went on a 9-0 run to go back in front. Martin had a final shot to tie it from just inside the free-throw line but it rimmed out.

Kyle Greathouse also had 10 for the Catamounts, who made 20-of-28 free throws.
