CULLOWHEE, N.C. (AP) -- Ashley Champion posted a double-double
with 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead Chattanooga to a 73-71
victory over Western Carolina on Saturday.
Kevin Martin, the nation's leading scorer, sat out most of the
first half in foul trouble but scored 23 points in the second half
for the Catamounts (11-10, 4-6). David Berghoefer had 14 points and
The Catamounts held a five-point lead with 2:33 left but
Chattanooga went on a 9-0 run to go back in front. Martin had a
final shot to tie it from just inside the free-throw line but it
Kyle Greathouse also had 10 for the Catamounts, who made
20-of-28 free throws.
