LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Nate Johnson hit a spinning layup with 23.6 seconds left, then made two free throws 11 seconds later to give Nebraska a 68-65 come-from-behind win over Iowa State Saturday.

Nebraska (16-9, 6-8 Big 12) led by 10 points when Brian Conklin hit a 3-pointer to open the half.

But Iowa State (15-10, 6-8) battled back, cutting the lead to three on Jared Homan's free throws with 16:36 left and tying the game at 56 on Will Blalocks 3-pointer with 5:29 to play.

Iowa State opened a three-point lead on Curtis Stinson's driving jumper in the lane with 40 seconds left. Nebraska's Jake Muhleisen made a pair of free throws to cut the Cyclone lead to 65-64 with 28 seconds left, then forced Jake Sullivan into a turnover on the ensuing inbounds pass.

Johnson then drove to the basket and scored.

Blalock missed a jumper on Iowa State's next possession. Stinson rebounded but had his shot blocked by John Turek.

Following Johnson's free throws with 12 seconds left, Sullivan and Jackson Vroman each missed 3-pointers that would have tied the game.
