FULLERTON, Calif. (AP) -- Anthony Bolton and Pape Sow each scored
a game-high 26 points to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 90-83 win
over Cal Poly Saturday night.
Cal Poly (9-15, 4-12) now has to win its final two games for a
chance at making the Big West Conference Tournament.
Cal State Fullerton (10-15, 6-10) and UC Riverside (9-15, 6-10),
meanwhile, remain in position to take the tournament's final two
spots. Each has two games left.
Bolton made his first five 3-pointers in a 5-for-7 night from
behind the arc. He also made all eight of his free throw attempts
in the final three minutes, and the Titans connected on their last
12 free throw attempts to secure the win.
Cal Poly had cut Fullerton's lead to 74-71 on a pair of Nick
Enzweiler free throws with 3:33 left but never threatened to get
any closer.
Enzweiler's 17 points led the Mustangs, who saw all five
starters reach double figures in scoring.
The Mustangs struggled with Fullerton's zone defense all night
and were out-rebounded 50-22, including 21-6 on the offensive
glass. Sow finished with a game-high 18 rebounds, which is also the
most pulled down by any Big West player in a game this season.
