UC Riverside 74, Belmont 65

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) -- David Jobe had 20 points and 10 rebounds
as UC Riverside beat Belmont 74-65 in a consolation game of the
Coaches vs. Cancer Classic on Friday night.

Rickey Porter scored 12 of his 15 points in the first half for
the Highlanders (1-1), who overcame 22 turnovers and shot 50
percent to bounce back following a 78-61 loss to host California on
Thursday night.

Vili Morton, the Highlanders' lone returning starter, added 14
points and six rebounds before fouling out for UC Riverside, picked
by the coaches and media to finish last in the Big West Conference.

Belmont (0-2) was led by Brian Collins with 20 points. Nick Otis
added 14 points for the Bruins. The Nashville, Tenn., school lost
its opener 67-58 to Saint Mary's.

UC Riverside shot 58 percent in the first half but committed 12
turnovers and headed into halftime tied at 37.
