GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- Guards Ben Earle and Tony Carter combined for half of Furman's scoring in a 64-52 win against Campbell in the season opener for both teams Friday night.

Earle and Carter scored 16 each and Eric Webb added 13 as the Paladins handed the Camels their 33rd-straight road loss dating back to January 2002.

Anthony Atkinson scored 12 to lead Campbell, which led only once at 30-28 on Atkinson's 3-pointer late in the first half.

Carter scored 11 in the second half as Furman steadily built on a four-point halftime lead. Carter's 3-pointer with 14:37 remaining put the Paladins up by eight at 42-34 and his drive with 3:10 left made it a 12-point game at 58-46.

Earle had 13 in the first half including the go-ahead points on a layup and free throw for a 31-30 lead two minutes before intermission.
