WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) -- Alex Gamboa scored 23 points and Yale used an 11-0 run early in the second half Saturday night to beat Hartford 92-80 in the third place game of the William & Mary Classic.

Yake (1-1) led 45-43 before Sam Kaplan's layup with 18:59 to play sparked the run. Hartford (0-2) helped the Bulldogs cause, turning it over four times in the spurt.

The Hawks cut the deficit to single digits just twice the rest of the way, the last at 78-70 with 2:48 left, but each time the Bulldogs responded at their end.

Edwin Draughan added 17 points, Dominick Martin 15 and Casey Hughes 12 points for Yale, which shot 53.6 percent and outscored Hartford 25-14 at the free-throw line.

Charles Ford paced Hartford with 24 points on 11-for-15 shooting. Trevor Goode added 18 points and Demarcquez Rembert and Robert Taylor had 11 each.
