    Stephen F. Austin 65, Northern Colorado 55

AMES, Iowa (AP) -- Josh Porter scored 23 points and Stephen F. Austin survived a second-half scoring drought of nearly seven minutes to beat Northern Colorado 65-55 Saturday night for third place in the Cyclone Challenge.

Stephen F. Austin (2-2) never trailed, led by 10 at halftime, then fended off Northern Colorado (0-6) after the Bears drew to within eight in the second half.

Rodrigo Segantim added 11 points and 10 rebounds for Stephen F. Austin. Matt Kline's 12 points led Northern Colorado, off its its worst start since the 1954-55 team was 0-7.

Porter went 5-for-7 from 3-point range, but his most impressive shot was a close-in basket at the end of the first half.

With .9 seconds remaining, Stephen F. Austin's Leonard Brown inbounded the ball on the sideline in the Northern Colorado half of the court. He fired a pass to Porter, who caught the ball as he cut across the lane, turned and made the shot at the buzzer to give the Lumberjacks a 35-25 lead.

Stephen F. Austin led 46-34 after Segantim hit a baseline jumper with 15:01 remaining. The Lumberjacks didn't score again hit Taylor Moore made a jump shot at the 8:08 mark, but Northern Colorado managed only two baskets in that stretch.

The Bears closed to 48-40 on James Randle's two free throws, but Stephen F. Austin scored the next seven points, including a 3-pointer by Patrick Hannaway, to put it out of reach.
