BOSTON (AP) -- Jose Juan Barea scored 24 of his 28 points in the second half and Marcus Barnes added a season-high 23 points to lead Northeastern past Binghamton 75-68 Sunday afternoon.

Northeastern (6-5, 2-0 America East) outscored Binghamton (3-8, 0-2) 9-1 in the final 2:15 to pick up its fourth win in five games.

Trailing 67-66, Northeastern took the lead on a 3-point play by Bennett Davis. Barea then grabbed a Binghamton miss and found a streaking Barnes for a layup that gave the Huskies a 71-67 lead with 1:12 left. The Bearcats turned the ball over on their next possession, and Northeastern hit four free throws down the stretch to ice the game.

Andre Heard kept Binghamton in the game by scoring all 27 of his points in the second half, including 19 of the Bearcats' final 25 points. Heard gave the Bearcats their biggest lead, 56-49, with 6:40 to play with a field goal that capped a 3:12 stretch in which he outscored Northeastern 9-2.
