BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) -- Terrence Todd and DeWitt Maxwell each
set career marks for scoring Sunday as Fairfield beat Iona, 80-63,
in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game.
Todd scored 18 of his game-high 27 points in the first half.
Maxwell, who shot 12-of-13 from the field, scored 20 of his 26 in
the second half.Tyquawn Goode added 11 points and eight assists for Fairfield
(6-5, 3-1 MAAC). Deng Gai scored the 1,000th point of his career in
the second half.Steve Burtt lead Iona (4-8, 0-3) with 18 points, which has lost
three straight games. Charles Henson scored 14.Led by Todd, Fairfield took control of the game early. He scored
seven straight points to give the Stags a 14-6 lead. Todd later hit
a 3-pointer that sparked an 8-0 run that put his team ahead 32-15.
Fairfield led by as many as 19 in the first half.
