PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Darren Cooper led a balanced attack with
12 points, all in the first half, as Portland registered an easy
67-35 victory over Idaho State on Sunday.
The game was only close for the first seven minutes. That's when
Portland started an 11-0 run that put the Pilots ahead 24-7.The Pilots (11-4) put the game away with an 8-0 spurt that made
the score 49-21 with 14 minutes left. Portland had its biggest lead
at 61-27 at the five minute mark.Idaho State (6-6) made only 11 of 48 shots, or 29 percent. Four
times during the game the Bengals went four minutes or more without
a field goal.Idaho State was led by Doug D'Amore with eight points. Slim
Millien, the team's leading scorer during the season, was held
scoreless, missing the only two shots he took.Marcus Lewis had 11 points and nine rebounds for the Pilots.
