JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Jacksonville native Will Holloman sank
two key free throws with 15 seconds left Monday night to help
Stetson cement a 68-63 win over Jacksonville.
Holloman, who attended high school here, gave Stetson a 66-63
lead and forced Jacksonville's David Lee to take an off-balance
3-point shot with seven seconds left. It fell short and after the
Hatters grabbed the rebound, Anthony Register capped the win with
two more free throws with 3.9 seconds left.
Jacksonville led 38-34 at halftime and through much of the
second half. Stetson tied the game at 61-all when Register hit from
beyond the 3-point line, then took the lead for good at 63-61 when
E.J. Gordon slammed home a rebound at the 1:35 mark.
Holloman matched Gordon for team-high honors with 14 points.
Gordon grabbed 16 rebounds in the game.
Jacksonville (5-5, 1-2 in the Atlantic Sun) was led by Antonio
Cool with 22 points. Haminn Quaintanance added 11 while also
grabbing 16 rebounds.
Stetson (4-6, 2-1) was coming off a four-point win at Georgia on
New Year's Eve and was playing its sixth consecutive road game.
