Panthers snap nine-game skid

LORMAN, Miss. (AP) -- Phillip Scott scored 26 points to lead
Prairie View A&M to a 77-69 victory over Alcorn State on Monday

Jared Ellison came off the bench and added 16 points for the
Panthers (1-9, 1-0 Southwestern Athletic Conference), which snapped
a nine-game losing streak to start the season.

Almaad Jackson and Delvin Thompson each scored 18 points for
Alcorn State (1-10, 0-1), which has lost five straight since
beating Arkansas Baptist on Dec. 4.

Prairie View A&M took command of its SWAC opener with an
impressive first half in which Panthers made 59 percent of their
shots, held Alcorn State to 29 percent shooting and led 38-28 at

Prairie View A&M shot 49 percent from the field for the game.

DeAndre Jones added 10 points for the Braves, who made just 36
