WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Aaron Cook's game-high 23 points,
including 18 in the first half, led Hartford to 63-58 victory over
Longwood University on Tuesday.
Husein Pistoljevic led Longwood (1-18) with 12 points.
Longwood fell behind early as Hartford led 8-2 at 17:11.
Longwood rallied back with a 12-6 run to tie the game at 14-14 with
12:58 left in the half.
Longwood led 34-24 with 3:28 remaining in the period before
Hartford (4-7) scored the final eight points to close to within
34-32 at the intermission.
Longwood maintained its narrow lead early in the second half,
leading 38-36 at 18:00 before Hartford used an 8-0 run to go ahead
44-38 with 14:34 left.
Lamar Barrett scored seven straight points to lead Longwood
45-44 at 12:46 with two baskets ahead of Pistoljevic's fourth
three-pointer of the game.
It was Longwood's last lead of the night as Hartford took a
54-49 lead with 9:18 to play, and prevented Longwood from getting
closer than a point down the stretch.
