JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) -- Eric King scored 21 points and five
others reached double figures, leading Tennessee State to a 93-69
victory over Jacksonville State in the Tigers' Ohio Valley
Conference opener on Thursday night.
King shot nine of 13 from the field. Kareem Grant scored 17
points, Bruce Priced added 14, Wayne Arnold had 11. Roshaun Bowens
and Jeremy Jackson each scored 10 points for Tennessee State
(6-9,1-0).Dorien Brown hit six of 11 for 15 points and a game-high nine
rebounds for the Gamecocks (4-10, 0-2), who dominated the boards
38-34. B.J. Spencer added 14 points and Anthony Wilson had 11.The Tigers, who never trailed, led 44-25 at halftime.Jacksonville State was held to 42 percent shooting by the
Tigers, who hit 55 percent of their shots. Tennessee State also
scored 29 points off the Gamecocks 14 turnovers, while Jacksonville
state scraped up only 9 points of the Tigers' 21.
