Chicago St 64, Centenary 57

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) -- Tony Weeden scored 22 points, leading
Chicago State to a 64-57 victory that extended Centenary's losing
streak to five games on Thursday night.

Royce Parran's driving layup gave Chicago State (2-9, 1-0 Mid
Continent) the lead inside the last six minutes, and Parran scored
11 of Chicago State's last 16 points to seal the victory.

Deji Akindele had 16 points and 14 rebounds for Chicago State
(2-9, 1-0 Mid Continent), which led 29-26 at halftime, while Parran
finished with 13 points and Craig Franklin scored 11.

Chad Maclies scored 17 for Centenary (2-10, 0-2), which
struggled with its shooting early and finished at 40.4 percent from
the field. Curtis Tillman added 13 points for the Gents, which
battled back from a 14-point deficit to briefly take the lead
before Parran helped Chicago State regain control.

Chicago State shot 53.7 percent.
