RUSTON, La. (AP) -- Nick Fazekas scored 21 points and grabbed 18
rebounds to lead Nevada past Louisiana Tech, 64-56, on Thursday
Ramon Sessions added 12 points, seven assists and two steals for
Nevada (10-3, 3-0 WAC), which led 26-21 at halftime and maintained
a lead of five points or more through most of the second half.
Paul Millsap scored 13 points and Corey Dean 11 for Louisiana
Tech (6-6, 1-2), which shot only 34.5 percent from the field.
Nevada, which struggled with its shooting early, finished at 43.1
percent after going 13-of-24 (54.2 percent) from the floor in the
Fazekas' 7-of-8 free throw shooting led an onslaught at the foul
line, where Nevada scored 18 of its points. Tech was 9-of-15 from
the foul line.
Fazekas was a key factor in Nevada's 40-36 rebounding edge. He
also blocked a shot.
