PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Seamus Boxley scored 25 points and grabbed
eight rebounds to carry Portland State to a 79-69 win over
Sacramento State on Thursday.
Portland State survived a season-high 29 turnovers and 63
percent shooting from the free throw line. Sacramento State
committed 24 turnovers and shot 37 percent from the field.
The Hornets trailed 41-24 at the half, but rallied to within one
-- 57-56 -- when Pugh capped a 13-2 run with a 3-pointer. But the
Vikings hit the Hornets with a burst of their own and never
relinquished the lead.
Sacramento State started the first half in good shape, leading
21-20 with just under seven minutes left. But the Vikings went on a
19-2 run over the next four minutes to take a commanding lead.
Boxley had nine points during the stretch, which was punctuated by
Antone Jarrell's reverse breakaway dunk.
