COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Willie Jenkins scored 28 points to lead
Tennessee Tech to an 86-72 victory Thursday night over Eastern
Illinois in the Ohio Valley Conference opener for both teams.
Tennessee Tech (6-6, 1-0) sealed the win with a 9-2 run that
started with 9:20 to play, giving the Golden Eagles a 77-62 lead.
Jenkins had five points during the run.Eastern Illinois (5-6, 0-1) trailed 38-36 at the half.Tennessee Tech took the lead for good with a 13-0 spurt capped
by a Derek Stribling dunk with 12:58 to play in the first half,
giving the Golden Eagles a 21-8 lead.Stribling and Ben Jacobson scored 11 points each for Tennessee
Tech, and Milone Clark added 10.The Panthers were led by Emanuel Dildy with 20 points. Aaron
Patterson and Josh Gomes each added 10.
