Utah Valley State 75, Longwood 57

OREM, Utah (AP) -- Ronnie Price scored 28 points to lead Utah
Valley State in a 75-57 win over Longwood Friday night.

Utah Valley State (5-9) led by as many as 13 points in the first
half on the strength of a 21-2 run in which the Wolverines scored
16 straight points. The Wolverines also connected on nine of their
19 3-point attempts.

Pierre Thomas led the team in the first half by scoring 13
points. He finished the game with 15 as the Wolverines second
leading scorer.

The Lancers cut the lead to three with 12 minutes to play in the
game, but the Wolverines pulled away. Price scored Utah Valley's
final nine points to seal the victory.

Michael Jefferson, Longwood's leading scorer who has averaged 16
points per game, was held to just three points Friday. Maurice
Sumter led the Lancers with 17 points and ten rebounds while Lamar
Barrett contributed 12.

Longwood (1-19) has now lost eight straight games.
