OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- Keith Parks' 18 points led four players in double figures as North Dakota held off fifth-ranked Nebraska at Omaha 78-73 Saturday, ending the Mavericks' 12-game winning streak and 14-game home victory string.

The North Central Conference loss drops the Mavericks to 15-2 overall and 1-1 in the league. It was the league opener for the 15-3 Fighting Sioux.

Abdul Mills led UNO with 20 points and a career-high 14 rebounds, while Quantel Murphy scored a career-best 19 points. Calvin Kapel added 13 points and Ryan Curtis 10, but it was not enough against North Dakota.

Parks was joined in double figures by Caro Nobles with 15, Todd Rypkema 12 and Mike Johnson 11. Parks also hauled in 13 rebounds.

The Mavericks led 15-6 six minutes into the game and 22-12 midway through the half but the Fighting Sioux recovered with a 13-4 run to take a 36-35 lead at the half.

UNO led only briefly in the second half, before the Sioux took the momentum and built a 55-46 lead on Steve Bradley's three-pointer with 13:40 to play.

Parks and Johnson each hit a pair of free throws in the final 14 seconds to secure the win.

The teams will square off again in Grand Forks on Friday.
