BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) -- The nation's top scoring duo, Taylor
Coppenrath and T.J. Sorrentine, each scored 30 points Monday night
as Vermont defeated Dartmouth, 78-68.
Sorrentine scored 20 points in the first half as Vermont jumped
out to a 39-30 lead at the break. Coppenrath had 21 points and 11
rebounds in the second half.
Coppenrath, who went 12-for-14 from the line, now has scored
1,986 career points, second all-time at Vermont (9-3) while
Sorrentine now has 1,661, good for fifth place.
Dartmouth (4-10) forced 16 Vermont turnovers and made nine
three-pointers to stay in the ball game. With 18 points, Michael
Lang led three players in double-digits with Steve Callahan adding
12 and Mike McLaren 11.
The win also was the 300th career victory for coach Tom Brennan,
who announced on Nov. 4 that this season, his 24th overall and 19th
at Vermont, would be his last.
