BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) -- The nation's top scoring duo, Taylor Coppenrath and T.J. Sorrentine, each scored 30 points Monday night as Vermont defeated Dartmouth, 78-68.

Sorrentine scored 20 points in the first half as Vermont jumped out to a 39-30 lead at the break. Coppenrath had 21 points and 11 rebounds in the second half.

Coppenrath, who went 12-for-14 from the line, now has scored 1,986 career points, second all-time at Vermont (9-3) while Sorrentine now has 1,661, good for fifth place.

Dartmouth (4-10) forced 16 Vermont turnovers and made nine three-pointers to stay in the ball game. With 18 points, Michael Lang led three players in double-digits with Steve Callahan adding 12 and Mike McLaren 11.

The win also was the 300th career victory for coach Tom Brennan, who announced on Nov. 4 that this season, his 24th overall and 19th at Vermont, would be his last.
