Mercer 82, Lipscomb 73

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Wesley Duke scored 18 points to lead
Mercer to a 82-73 victory over Lipscomb on Monday night.

The Bisons (8-4, 3-2 Atlantic Sun) lost a 50-43 halftime lead.

James Poindexter scored 28 points and Brian Fisk added 13 points
for Lipscomb, but it wasn't enough to hold off the Bears (8-4,
4-2). Lipscomb lost momentum after Mercer's Tyler McCurry hit a
3-pointer, his only basket, to put the Bears up 72-71 with five
minutes left in the game.

Mercer never trailed after McCurry's shot. Jacob Skogen added 12
points, Damitrius Coleman 11 and Will Emerson had 10 points and
nine rebounds.

Lipscomb scored 30 of its first 32 points in the game on
3-pointers, led by Poindexter, who was 6-for-9 in the half. But
Mercer shot 63 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes to
stay close.

The Bisons went cold in the second half, shooting just 14.3
percent from long range.
