WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Marcus Barnes scored 22 points and Janon Cole added 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead Northeastern to an 82-69 win over Hartford Wednesday night.

Northeastern (8-6, 4-1 America East) held Hartford scoreless for the first four minutes and built a 27-15 lead with 7:31 left in the half. But the Hawks scored nine of the final 11 points of the half and closed the gap to 31-27 at the break.

Hartford (5-9, 1-4) pulled to within 36-34 early in the second half on a free throw by Aaron Cook. But the Huskies restored the lead to double digits with 15:25 left on a 3-pointer by Barnes.

The game was stopped with 14:43 remaining when Hartford's Charles Ford was fouled on a layup and hit the floor hard. He was taken to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford. A hospital spokesman said St. Francis does not release patient conditions.

The game resumed after 30 minutes, and the Hawks trimmed Northeastern's lead to four with just under 12 minutes remaining, but would get no closer.

Cook led the Hawks with 21 points and eight rebounds. Bernard Lowndes added 12 points, and Bo Taylor chipped in 10 points and 15 rebounds.

Jose Juan Barea had 10 points, nine assists and six rebounds for Northeastern.
