Lamar 87, McNeese State 81

BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) -- Josh Goodwin's only basket of the game
propelled Lamar to an 87-81 win over McNeese State on Wednesday
night.

Goodwin's jumper in the lane with 3:05 to play gave the
Cardinals a 75-74 lead in the back-and-forth game. The shot turned
out to be the game-winner.

The game featured 13 lead changes and 11 ties.

Alan Daniels led Lamar (10-4, 2-1 Southland) with 30 points and
eight rebounds. Daniels was 10-of-13 from the field and 9-of-12
from the free-throw line. Teddy Davis added 19 points, 11 on free
throws. Nashid Beard scored a career-high 16 points.

Edward Garriet scored 19 points to lead McNeese State (7-7,
2-1). J.T. Williams added 18.

Lamar, which trailed 39-37 at halftime, shot 55 percent from the
field for the game.
