BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) -- Joe Knight scored 11 points, including a
go-ahead 3-pointer with three minutes to go, to lead Lehigh to a
63-55 comeback win over Lafayette on Wednesday night.
Jose Olivero led all scorers with 15 points for Lehigh (8-7, 2-0
Patriot League) and Jason Mgebroff added 13 and Nick Monserez 10.
Marcus Harley led Lafayette (5-9, 1-1) with 12 points and Jamaal
Douglas chipped in seven points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Lafayette, trailing 33-23 at the half, edged slowly to a
four-point lead with 6:14 to go, but Knight knocked down a pair of
free throws and then nailed a 3-pointer to give Lehigh a 54-53
After a foul shot by Knight and a jumper by Kevin Tempest made
the score 59-53 with 28 seconds left, Monserez sealed the game for
the Mountain Hawks with a pair of defensive rebounds and 4-for-4
shooting from the foul line.
Lehigh led by as much as 16 points early in the second half, but
the Leopards went on a 21-4 run to take a 46-45 lead with 9:43 to
go on jumper by Douglas.
