RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Bashir Mason's 3-pointer at the buzzer gave Drexel a 66-64 victory over Virginia Commonwealth on Wednesday night.

After Renardo Dixon gave the Rams a 64-63 lead with a 3-pointer with 2.7 seconds remaining, Mason flung a one-hander falling toward the sideline and got the win for Drexel (6-6, 2-2 Colonial Athletic Association).

That gave the Rams (6-7, 2-2) the second consecutive home loss on a 3-pointer in the last 3 seconds.

Virginia Commonwealth led 34-31 at halftime on a dunk by Dixon. The Dragons had a 10-0 run midway through the second half, leading by as many as five points.

Alexander Harper's 3-pointer with 3:31 remaining gave the Rams a 56-54 lead and was the first of seven lead changes over the final minutes.

Dixon's career-high 18 points led the Rams and Michael Doles added 10.

Sean Brooks led the Dragons with a season-high 21 points.
