SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Alex Bausley had 18 points and Jameel
Pugh added 16 to give Sacramento State its first win in the Big Sky
Conference, 61-59 over Idaho State on Thursday night.
Jeff Gardner had 22 points and was the only player to score in
double digits for Idaho State (6-9, 0-3), which opened a seven-game
Sacramento State (4-11, 1-2) fell behind 15-2 before rallying to
win. The Hornets made 12 of 17 free throws in the first half to cut
the deficit to 30-25. They tied the game at 41 on Doug Hardy's
layup with 12:27 left.
There were four lead changes and three ties over the next six
minutes before Jason Harris' free throws gave Sacramento State a
51-49 lead it wouldn't relinquish.
The Hornets hit seven free throws in the last 4:35 of the game
to hold on for the win.
