DURHAM, N.H. (AP) --Ernest Turner scored 21 points as Maine held
off New Hampshire late in the second half for a 70-65 America East
victory Thursday night.

Maine (8-6, 3-2 America East) outscored New Hampshire 24-3 in
the final 8:51 of the first half to take a 45-25 lead. During that
stretch Maine hit four three pointers, two by Turner and a pair by
Kevin Reed.

New Hampshire (5-9, 1-4 America East) opened the second half
with a 12-5 run to make it 50-37 with 13:36 remaining. But Maine
came back, leading 60-40 with 10:57 left.

UNH outrebounded Maine by a 43-27 margin, but the Black Bears
were deadly from behind the three-point arc, making 10-16 for a
shooting percentage of .455.

Reed with 12 points and Jermaine Jackson with 10.
