COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Tennessee Tech rolled past Morehead
State 63-40 on Thursday night, with Derek Stribling scoring 18
points and Tech's defense holding the Eagles scoreless for more
than 10 minutes.
Morehead State (7-7, 1-2 Ohio Valley Conference) scored its
first basket of the second half with 10:05 left on a Chad McKnight
Tennessee Tech (8-6, 3-0) started the second half on a 13-0 run.
Willie Jenkins capped the run with a field goal at the 11:13 mark.
The Golden Eagles ended the first half on an Anthony Fisher
3-pointer with six seconds left to take a 33-23 lead at the half.
Tennessee Tech held Morehead State to 31 percent shooting and
gave up only 17 second-half points.
Keyon Boyd scored 18 points for the Golden Eagles and Jenkins
added nine points and nine rebounds.
Josh Reed scored a team-high 10 points for Morehead State.
McKnight added nine points and grabbed seven rebounds.
