MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- Mario Jointer scored 16 points and grabbed
nine rebounds to help lead South Alabama to a 73-64 victory over
New Mexico State on Saturday night.
Jointer made 5-of-14 shots, four of them 3-pointers, for South
Alabama, which shot 8-of-21 from behind the arc.Richard Law added 15 points and Stephen Cowherd, who was perfect
in 10 free throw attempts, added 14. Brandon Gordon scored 10
points as the Jaguars (4-11, 1-3 Sun Belt Conference) held the
Aggies winless in the league.Duane John shot 5-of-11 from the field, including three
3-pointers, to lead New Mexico State (4-12, 0-3) with a game-high
24 points. Josh Jenkins added 16 points and Mike Mitchell had 12.The Jaguars shot 21-of-28 from the foul line, and hit 40 percent
of their shots overall.
