Nevada 62, Rice 59

HOUSTON (AP) -- Ramon Sessions scored 15 points as Nevada stayed
in first place in the Western Athletic Conference by beating Rice
62-59 Saturday.

Nevada (14-4, 7-1 WAC) jumped out to a nine-point halftime lead
and held on in the second half for its third straight win.

Rice (10-5, 5-2) lost its first game at home this season--
dropping to 9-1.

Michael Harris scored 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and
Jason McKrieth added 18 points for the Owls.

The Wolf Pack, who jumped out to an 18-9 lead to open the game,
led 34-25 at halftime.

Rice opened the second half on 17-9 surge to pull within 43-42
midway through the second half.

Nevada's Nick Fazekas had 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Kyle
Shiloh and Kevinn Pinkney each had 10 points.
