EL PASO, Texas (AP) -- Jason Williams scored 25 points to lead
Texas-El Paso to a 69-65 victory over San Jose State on Saturday
UTEP's victory extended its home winning streak in Western
Athletic Conference games to 12. The Miners (16-3, 6-1) got 24
points from their bench while San Jose State (4-12, 1-6) mustered
Williams was 10-of-15 from the floor, hit four 3-pointers and
grabbed eight rebounds. Stanley Branch added 14 points for UTEP.
San Jose State has lost 10 of its last 11.
The win helped UTEP remain a half game behind first-place Nevada
in the WAC standings.
