Portland 75, Santa Clara 62

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Ben Sullivan scored a career-high 19
points to lead Portland to a 75-62 win over Santa Clara on Thursday
night.

The Pilots (14-9, 3-5 West Coast Conference) led for the final
24 minutes and had a double-digit lead much of the second half. The
Pilots have won eight of nine home games.

Santa Clara (11-12, 5-3) had a 23-21 first-half lead after seven
straight points by Doron Perkins. The Broncos had their last lead
when Kyle Bailey hit a jumper to make it 27-26 with 4:14 left in
the first half.

Portland then scored the next seven points and added a 12-2 run
to start the second half.

After a mini-run by Santa Clara the Pilots came back behind the
inside play of Sullivan to take a 54-41 lead. Portland's largest
margin was 66-51 when Sullivan made a behind-the-head pass to
Marcus Lewis for a lay-up.

Sullivan had 15 points in the second half. Four other pilots
scored in double figures, led by Pooh Jeter with 14.

The Broncos were led by Perkins with 28 points, including five
3-pointers.
