    Nevada 62, UTEP 60

    EL PASO, Texas (AP) -- Nick Fazekas scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Nevada held on to sole possession of first place in the WAC by beating UTEP 62-60 Saturday night.

    Miguel Ayala and Omar Thomas missed 3-point attempts for UTEP in the final 17 seconds that would have given their team the lead.

    Nevada (18-5, 11-2 Western Athletic) won its fourth straight game.

    UTEP (19-6, 9-4) had won 13 straight conference home games dating back to last season. The Miners fell to 13-2 on their home court.

    Filiberto Rivera scored 18 points and dished out six assists for UTEP.

    Mo Charlo added 14 points for the Wolf Pack. Ramon Sessions had 11 and Kevinn Pinkney chipped in with 10 for Nevada, which has won six straight road games.

    Omar Thomas scored 13 points for the Miners and Jason Williams had 10.
