Appalachian St. 60, Furman 47

BOONE, N.C. (AP) -- Noah Brown scored 14 points while Corwin
Davis and Derek Thomas each added 13 to help Appalachian State beat
Furman 60-47 on Monday night.

None of the players started for the Mountaineers (14-9, 8-5
Southern Conference), whose bench outscored Furman's 40-12. Thomas
got his points in just eight minutes. Brown was 4-for-5 from
3-point range.

Moussa Diagne had 16 points, six rebounds and two blocks for
Furman (14-10, 7-5). Tony Carter added 12 points for the Paladins,
who played only eight players and lost starting forward Nicholas
Sanders to foul trouble.

Furman trailed 27-23 at halftime, Appalachian State stretched
its lead in the second half by making 4 of 8 3-point attempts while
Furman shot 2-for-15 from behind the arc.

The Paladins only got to the line three times in the game and
missed all three attempts while Appalachian State made 13 of 20
attempts.
