CULLOWHEE, N.C. (AP) -- Chris Brown scored 18 points and grabbed
10 rebounds to help Chattanooga beat Western Carolina 75-66 on
David Berghoefer led the Catamounts (8-19, 3-11) with 21 points
and seven rebounds, despite making just 3-of-10 attempts from the
free-throw line. The team was 5 of 18 from the line for the game.
Negus McKenna scored a career-high 14 points. Trey Hopkins also
scored 14 and made 4 of 10 3-point attempts.
Chattanooga made 20 of 29 free-throw attempts and outrebounded
Western Carolina 51-32, including 11 offensive rebounds.
The Catamounts made a 14-3 run to tie the game at 45 with 11:44
remaining. Chattanooga responded by building an 11-point lead over
the next few minutes. Western Carolina got no closer than five the
rest of the way and Casey Long sealed the win by making eight
free-throws in the final 1:05.
