CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -- Sharrod Ford dunked with less than a second to play to give Clemson a 66-64 victory over Virginia Tech on Tuesday night.

Olu Babalola of Clemson (15-13, 5-10 Atlantic Coast Conference) hit a 3-pointer with 9.8 seconds remaining to tie the game at 64. On the next possession, Clemson's Vernon Hamilton stole the ball and passed the ball to Shawan Robinson, who found Ford streaking to the basket.

Officials reviewed Ford's dunk and concluded he made the shot before time expired. The win means the Tigers will finish with at least a .500 record and thus are eligible for the NIT.

Clemson had a seven-point lead with 5:08 left, but the Hokies (15-11, 7-8) went on a 10-2 run to take a 59-58 lead with 1:31 remaining. Carlos Dixon, who led Virginia Tech with 25 points, scored eight points in the run.

Ford, who had 18 points, made two free throws, then Zabian Dowdell hit a 3-pointer to give the Hokies a 62-60 lead with 53 seconds to play. Dixon's two free throws put Virginia Tech ahead 64-61 with 16 seconds left.

Dowdell and Deron Washington each added 12 points for the Hokies.
