NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Shan Foster tied a career-high with 25 points and Alex Gordon had 16 points and a career-high 10 assists as Vanderbilt won its 26th straight non-conference home game with a 81-60 victory over Furman on Sunday night.

DeMarre Carroll scored a career-high 18 points and Ted Skuchas scored 10 and grabbed 10 rebounds as Vanderbilt finally pulled away from Furman late in the second half. Julian Terrell had 12 rebounds.

Eric Webb scored 21 points to lead Furman (1-1). Gerald Punch and Moussa Diagne had 10 points. The Paladins shot 85 percent from the free throw line, including 15-for-15 in the first half.

Vanderbilt (2-0) went on an 18-2 run to take a 70-54 lead with under five minutes to play. Six different Commodores scored during the run, with Gordon starting it with five straight points. Furman, which has not beaten a Southeastern Conference team since 1980, played Vanderbilt even for the first 28 minutes of the game but was eventually worn down against its bigger opponents.

Vanderbilt shot 37 percent in the first half and 71 percent in the second.

Furman built a 14-7 first-half lead as Vanderbilt missed 12 of its first 15 shots. The Commodores played without senior guard Mario Moore, who was serving the second game of a two-game suspension. Two free throws by Punch gave Furman a 38-36 lead at halftime.

Vanderbilt is 5-0 all-time vs. Furman.
