WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) -- Carl Landry scored a career-high 35
points to help Purdue beat South Alabama 85-67 Tuesday night.
Landry surpassed his previous high of 31 points set last season
against Michigan State.
Landry made 10-of-13 field goals and 15-of-17 free throws for
the Boilermakers (2-0). He scored 23 points in the second half as
Purdue pulled away.
The Boilermakers led by as many as 12 points in the first half
before South Alabama briefly took the lead. Purdue led 37-36 at
The Boilermakers led 48-47 early in the second half before going
on a 12-3 run to take control. Minnoy drew two charges during the
Purdue outscored South Alabama 21-8 from the free-throw line.
The Jaguars stayed close for most of the game with their outside
shooting. The Jaguars made nine of 23 3-pointers.
