Purdue 85, South Alabama 67

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) -- Carl Landry scored a career-high 35
points to help Purdue beat South Alabama 85-67 Tuesday night.

Landry surpassed his previous high of 31 points set last season
against Michigan State.

Richard Law scored 14 points and Carlos Smith added 12 for South
Alabama (1-1).

Landry made 10-of-13 field goals and 15-of-17 free throws for
the Boilermakers (2-0). He scored 23 points in the second half as
Purdue pulled away.

Freshman Nate Minnoy scored 13 points for the Boilermakers,
which shot 57 percent from the field. Korey Spates scored 11 points
and Chris Lutz added 10 for Purdue.

The Boilermakers led by as many as 12 points in the first half
