LAHAINA, Hawaii (AP) -- Sophomore forward C.J. Giles had a career-high 21 points and Kansas beat Chaminade 102-54 on Wednesday night in the seventh-place game of the Maui Invitational, the Silverswords' worst loss in the tournament they host.

Giles tied a school record by making all nine of his shots in the first half as the Jayhawks (2-2) took a 46-29 lead. They went on a 26-2 run to go up 82-39 with 7:04 left and led by as many as 50, 102-52.

Giles finished 10-for-12 from the field and grabbed nine rebounds as the Jayhawks had a 50-27 advantage on the boards.

Unlike its first two games in the tournament, losses to No. 12 Michigan State and No. 23 Maryland, Chaminade (0-3) wasn't able to stay close in the first half. The Silverswords led Maryland 46-44 at halftime before fading against the size, speed and strength of some of the better Division I programs.

Dylan McCune had 17 points for Chaminade, a Division II school from Honolulu which has a 4-60 record in the tournament. The previous worst loss was 108-61 to Boston College in the opening round in 1993. There were two other losses by 40 or more points, the last 97-57 to Arizona in the first round in 2000.

Chaminade's last win was 52-49 over an undermanned Villanova team in the opening round in 2003.

Brandon Rush had 15 points for Kansas, which shot 56.3 percent (40-for-71) and had all 12 players play at least six minutes and no one was in for more than 26. The Jayhawks lost to No. 9 Arizona and Arkansas in their first two games in the tournament.

The Silverswords finished 19-for-60 from the field (31.7 percent), but went just 8-for-29 in the second half.
