TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Melvin Buckley scored 26 points and James
Holmes added 25, leading South Florida to a 91-78 victory against
Jacksonville on Friday night.
McHugh Mattis scored 20 and Solomon Jones contributed 17 points,
10 rebounds and three blocked shots for the Bulls (2-0). Teammate
Chris Capko, making his first start, collected nine of his
game-high 12 assists en route to a 46-36 halftime advantage.
The Bulls led by 14 midway through the half, but the Dolphins
(0-2) closed to within five points six minutes before the
intermission. The advantage peaked at 85-66 late in the second
Jesse Kimbrough had 19 points, Aubrey Conerly 16 and Antonio
Cool 10 to pace Jacksonville, which did not have a scorer in double
figures in its season opener against Florida State. Kimbrough also
had 12 assists.
