LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Demario Eddins hit a driving layup with 4 seconds left to give Alabama-Birmingham a 73-72 win over Nebraska on Saturday.

The Blazers (3-1) trailed 41-35 at half, but used a Frank Holmes basket and three consecutive 3-pointers by Marvett McDonald to take a 46-41 lead with 17:30 left.

Nebraska (5-1) then held Alabama-Birmingham to just four points in the next nine minutes and went up 55-50 on Wes Wilkinson's jumper with 9:01 left. Nebraska led 69-68 with 4:01 left, but the Huskers managed just three Jason Dourisseau free throws the rest of the game.

The Blazers tied the game at 69 on Wen Mukubu's 3-pointer with 3 minutes left and took a 71-70 lead on Brandon Tobias's jumper with 47 seconds left.

Dourisseau hit a pair of free throws to put Nebraska up 72-71. Then Eddins hit his underhand scoop shot to give the Blazers the lead.

Nebraska got off a potential game winner, but Jamel White's 3-pointer hit the rim and bounced away.

Nebraska dominated the game on the backboards, pulling down 39 rebounds to Alabama-Birmingham's 28. But the Blazers forced 19 Nebraska turnovers and turned them into 18 points. Nebraska had 14 points off turnovers.

McDonald had a career-high 22 points to lead Alabama-Birmingham. Mukubu had 15 and Eddins finished with 13.
