CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- Charles Anderson scored 20 points and
was one of five Mocs in double figures as Chattanooga beat Asbury
97-60 Thursday night.
Chattanooga (1-4) managed their first win of the season by
shutting down the Eagles on the boards, outrebounding them 53-24.
Casey Long had a game- and season-high 10 rebounds, including eight
on defense. Alphonso Pugh had nine and Ricky Hood and Khalil
Hartwood each had five.The Mocs scored 25 points on second chances and 18 off 12
Eagles' turnovers.Anderson was joined in scoring by Keddric Mays with 17, Pugh
with 14, Nicchaeus Doaks with 13 and Hood with 10.Asbury (4-6) never led and trailed 48-38 at the half. The Eagles
made 8 of 8 free throws in the first half, but slipped in the
second to 1 of 3 from the line and 9 of 28 from the field.The Mocs had an 18-0 run stretching for 8:22 in the second half,
when they shot 19 of 31 from the field, or 61.3 percent.
