POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) -- Junior guard David Schroeder scored 19
points and Casey Winters blocked a career-high six shots Thursday
night as Idaho State held off Boise State 88-79.
Idaho State (3-1, 0-0 Big Sky) led by as many as 14 points in
the second half, taking a 59-45 lead with 11:19 remaining on Logan
Kinghorn's lay-up.The Broncos (2-2, 0-0 Western Athletic Conference) slowly
chipped away at the deficit and cut the lead to just one, at 72-71,
with 3:23 remaining in the game when junior guard Coby Karl nailed
a jumper.Then Idaho State went on a 7-0 run, led by five points from Tim
Henry and a crowd-pleasing one-handed alley-oop dunk by senior Slim
Millien.In addition to his six blocks, Winters scored 13 points. Henry
had 17 and Kinghorn scored 16.Karl, the son of Denver Nuggets coach George Karl, led all
scorers with 21 points for Boise State. Matt Bauscher had 16 points
for the Broncos, and junior guard Kenny Wilson had 12.
