Iona 71, Fordham 70

NEW YORK (AP) -- Steve Burtt scored a game-high 33 points,
including 24 in the second half, and undefeated Iona held off
Fordham for a 71-70 victory Thursday night.

Anthony Bruin's jumper gave the Gaels (4-0) a 62-51 lead at 6:32
of the second half, but Fordham went on a 13-0 run -- led by
Jermaine Anderson's five points -- to go in front with 3:31

Burtt, Iona's only double-figure scorer, then took charge and
scored six straight points to put the Gaels back ahead 68-64 with
55.1 seconds left. Iona, which surprised then-No. 23 Iowa State
with an 89-72 victory last weekend, held on from there.

Anderson scored 24 points, 14 after halftime, to lead the Rams
(1-5), who trailed at halftime 34-24 and lost their third straight.
Marcus Stout added 18 points for Fordham.
