Scott added 10 to help Dayton beat Grambling State 59-55 on
The Tigers led 31-28 at halftime and 48-47 with 6:21 left but
they couldn't hold off the Flyers. Warren Williams converted a
layup to start a 10-2 Dayton run that made it 57-50 Flyers with
Norman Plummer had eight points and 11 rebounds and Chris
Alvarez had 13 boards for the Flyers (5-2), who outrebounded the
Brion Rush scored 30 points for Grambling State (2-2), which
shot 35 percent from the field. The Eagles went 8-for-31 from
Anthony Williams scored nine of his 14 points in the first half
for Grambling State.
Dayton shot 44 percent from the field and committed 19
The Flyers missed all eight of their 3-point attempts after
connecting on at least one 3 in 500 consecutive games. The last
time Dayton did not have a 3-pointer in a game was in an 86-80
victory over Cincinnati on Jan. 29, 1989.
