DETROIT (AP) -- Brandon Cotton scored 24 points to lead Detroit to a 77-74 overtime win over Western Michigan on Saturday.

Jon Goode added a career-high 21 for the Titans (4-3), who scored the last seven points of the extra period.

Joe Reitz had 25 points to lead the Broncos (1-3) but missed two free throws with 15 seconds to play in overtime when his team trailed 75-74. Western Michigan, which has not defeated a Division I opponent this season, also got 11 points from Brian Snider.

Detroit (4-3) trailed 74-70 with 2 minutes to play in overtime but tied the score when Cotton made a free throw with a minute to play. Goode split a pair of free throws with 32 seconds left to give the Titans the lead for good.

The Broncos' Andrew Hershberger made a pair of free throws with 32 seconds to play in the second half to tie the game, which went to overtime after both teams missed potential game-winning shots in the last 10 seconds.

Detroit led by as many as 14 points in the first half and was up 59-50 with 8 minutes to play in the second before a 7-0 Western Michigan rally tightened the game.

Chuck Bailey had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Titans before fouling out late in the second half.
