HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) -- John Winchester scored 15 of his game-high
22 points in the second half to lead Quinnipiac to a 67-59
non-conference win over Colgate Monday night.
Victor Akinyanju added 12 points and 11 rebounds for Quinnipiac
(4-2), which limited Colgate to five offensive rebounds in the
Colgate (4-4), which shot 7-of-27 from 3-point range, had 10
offensive rebounds in the first half and trailed 28-27 at halftime.
Adam Gonzalez had 10 points and six assists for Quinnipiac.
Dan Gentile led Colgate with 14 points. His three-pointer with
14:20 left pulled Colgate to within 41-38, but that was the closest
the Raiders would get. Kyle Rohmer added 11 on 4-of-13 shooting.
Quinnipiac built its lead to nine three times, the last on a
Winchester free throw with 49.7 seconds left.
