South Florida 77, Stetson 52

DELAND, Fla. (AP) -- James Holmes scored 21 points and Melvin
Buckley added 19 to lead South Florida past Stetson 77-52 on
Tuesday night.

South Florida (4-2) beat Stetson (0-7) for the ninth straight
time in a series the Bulls now lead 15-7. The Hatters were playing
at home for the first time this season.

Stetson trailed 41-23 at halftime, but cut South Florida's lead
to seven points in a 13-2 run in the opening minutes of the second
half. McMillen led run with two 3-pointers and a layup.

But South Florida came back with a 15-4 run anchored by two
thunderous dunks from Solomon Jones to turn back Stetson's brief
charge.

Holmes went 8-for-15 from the floor, while backcourt teammate
Buckley, a transfer from Purdue, went 8-for-11. Jones added 15
points and six of South Florida's 12 blocks.

McHugh Mattis led a 37-22 Bulls advantage on the boards with 10
rebounds, and added five blocks and eight points.

Will Holloman was the only Hatter in double figures with 11
points.

The Bulls dominated on both ends of the floor in the first half,
connecting on 15 of 29 shots on offense and blocking 10 Stetson
shots in the first 20 minutes.

Buckley scored 17 points in the first half, converting three
3-point shots.
