San Diego 94, UC Riverside 67

SAN DIEGO (AP) --Gyno Pomare scored 21 points and Nick Lewis
added 20 as the University of San Diego beat the University of
California Riverside, 94-67, Tuesday night at the Jenny Craig

It was the fourth victory in a row for the West Coast Conference
Toreros (5-2, 0-0) and their second over the Highlanders this

UC Riverside, which plays in the Big West, is 0-5 overall and
0-1 in the conference.

The Toreros led by only six points at the half (42-36). However,
Lewis had nine points to key a 15-1 run midway through the second
half as San Diego pulled ahead 74-52. The Toreros coasted home from

Pomare, a 6-7 redshirt freshman center, connected on 10 of 13
shots from the floor. He and Lewis each had seven rebounds.
Teammate Corey Belser had 10 rebounds along with nine points. Theo
White had eight rebounds and 12 points.

Houston Power led Riverside with 13 points while Klaus Schille
had 11.

San Diego connected on 24 of 40 from the free-throw line while
Riverside was 10-for-15.

The Toreros win came on San Diego coach Brad Holland's 49th
